WOTAN is an author-led project created by a single artist. All decks are developed within a unified creative approach, where research, visual language, and material execution evolve as one continuous process.

The themes of each deck are chosen based on the author’s sustained interest in specific subjects, historical layers, and symbolic systems. Work begins with careful study of sources, visual traditions, and underlying structures, which gradually form a coherent concept. History is not used as a backdrop, but becomes the foundation of each deck’s internal logic.

Illustration, composition, and format are developed in parallel. The physical aspect of the deck is treated as an integral part of the concept: the choice of paper, weight, texture, and printing solutions directly influences how the imagery is perceived and how the deck feels in use.

WOTAN decks are easily recognizable by their physical characteristics. Printing establishes a distinct visual and tactile language, while card and box dimensions are defined deliberately and consistently.

Tarot decks are produced in a 80×140 mm format, and oracle decks in 90×120 mm.

These proportions shape composition, determine the scale of detail, and influence the overall rhythm of interaction with the deck.

WOTAN represents a calm, focused authorial process. Each deck is created as a complete system in which theme, form, and material exist in precise balance.
